Absolutely! I have three different link images -- two animated, and one static. They're all transparent and will fit almost any background. Just right-click on the image of your choice, save it to your own server, and link it to http://story.flickguy.com.
The ratings indicate to you what the current content of a story is. They are based on the movie ratings system of the Motion Picture Association of America, and include G, PG, PG-13, R and (in very rare instances) NC-17. If you're familiar with American movie ratings, you'll have a decent idea of the content level of a given story. (There is also a notation on the Open Stories page of what elements of a story caused me to rate it as I did -- such as excessive language and/or violence, etc.)

Absolutely not! As a story progresses, it will likely change in rating as well. The ratings are by no means intended to limit an author's creativity -- just to warn readers of potential content.
